The Differences DDR1 and DDR2

12/10/2009 23:20

There are several differences between DDR1 with DDR2. The first of the clock rate and its bandwidth. DDR1 typically have clock rates below 400 MHz with a bandwidth below 3200 MB / sec (marked with the name of the PC) and is generally classified into DDR PC3200 (400MHz clock)

PC2700 (333 MHz clock) and PC2100 (266 Mhz clock). While DDR2 has clock rates and greater bandwidth ranging from DDR2 PC4200 (533MHz clock), PC5300 (667MHz clock), PC6400 (800MHz clock). There's even untill PC8000.

Then the second of pin number. The number of pins for DDR1 more less than the number of pins on the DDR2. then the position of "gap" buffer is also different.

The third was of course the price. Now that DDR2 prices slightly cheaper than DDR1 because maybe its with mass production, while DDR1 with small production.

DDR2 should be installed on the motherboard (motherboard, in this case support to the chipset) have to support DDR2 and DDR1 also have to be installed on the motherboard that support DDR1.

generally in production 2006 motherboard already support DDR2. better we buy the same its clock or highest supportclock for the faster running of processing computer.
